Ex-Union center Welsh gets more ice time in Canucks' OT win over Islanders

Former Union College hockey center Jeremy Welsh saw more significant ice time in his second game with the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.

Welsh played 11:08 in the Canucks' 5-4 overtime win over the New York Islanders in Uniondale. He had one shot on goal.

In his first game Sunday with the Canucks on Sunday, Welsh played in just 4:18 in a 3-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. He didn't see the ice in the third period of that game. That wasn't the case against the Islanders.

Welsh was recalled by the Canucks from the AHL's Utica Comets on Saturday.
