Ex-RPI forward Pirri scores first NHL goal

Former RPI forward Brandon Pirri scored his first career NHL goal for the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night. The goal came 7:42 into the game against the St. Louis Blues.

Pirri, Chicago's second-round selection in the 2009 NHL draft, was recalled by the Blackhawks from the AHL Rockford Icehogs last Friday. He is playing in his ninth career game for the Blackhawks. He had two assists in five games during the 2011-12 season.

Pirri had 11 goals and 32 assists in 39 games for RPI in the 2009-10 season, the only year he played at RPI. He signed with the Blackhawks after the season.

Pirri led the AHL in scoring last season with 22 goals and 53 assists.
