Union, RPI won't appear on NBCSN this season
While NBC Sports Network announced a two-year contract to televise Hockey East on Tuesday, I have learned that when the full NBCSN college hockey schedule is announced later this week, Union and RPI won't be on it.
An NBC spokesman confirmed for me that neither team will be on the schedule. Union was NBCSN twice last season. RPI was on the network two years ago for two games.
As far as the Hockey East deal, NBCSN will annually televise a minimum of five Hockey East games. The network’s coverage begins Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. when Massachusetts visits Maine.
As part of the agreement, Boston University will appear three times on NBCSN and Massachusetts will appear twice. No. 4 Boston College, New Hampshire and Maine will also play games on the network this season.
This season's schedule includes Northeastern vs. Boston College on Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. North Dakota–Boston U. on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Boston U.-Massachusetts on Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Boston U.–New Hampshire on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
Glens Falls native Dave Strader will split the play-by-play duties with Boston Bruins radio announcer Dave Goucher. Ken Hodge will serve as an analyst on all games.
