Novak scores again; Union leads Brown, 3-1, after two

Max Novak scored his second goal of the game early in the second period, helping Union increase its lead over Brown to 3-1 after 40 minutes of play in the ECAC Hockey tournament championship game Saturday at Boardwalk Hall.

Novak, who scored with 13.2 seconds left in the first period, dove after a rebound of a Greg Coburn shot and put it past goalie Anthony Borelli 2:20 into the second.

The Bears got on the board when Dennis Robertson scored a power-play goal midway through the second. His shot from the slot trickled through goalie Troy Grosenick's pads.

Union is seeking its second straight ECACH tournament title.
