Max Novak and Josh Jooris scored early in the second period, giving Union a 4-0 lead over Yale after 40 minutes of play in their ECAC Hockey tournament semifinal game at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
Novak led a two-on-one rush down the right wing. With Matt Hatch a decoy on the left siode, Novak fired a shot over goalie Jeff Malcolm's left shoulder 21 seconds into the second.
Jooris was in front of the net when he redirected a Matt Wilkins shot from the right-wing boards past Malcolm at 5:00.
Union goalie Troy Grosenick has made 24 saves.
The winner plays Brown in Saturday's title game. Brown upset Quinnipiac, 4-0, in the first game.
