Union leads Dartmouth, 3-1, after two
Goals by Kyle Bodie and Shayne Gostisbehere helped increase Union's lead to 3-0, and it has a 3-1 advantage over Dartmouth after two periods of play in their ECAC Hockey tournament quarterfinals Saturday at Messa Rink.
Leading, 1-0, on a first-period goal by Kevin Sullivan, Bodie beat goalie Charles Grant from the slot at 2:37. Just over two minutes later, Gostisbehere fired a shot over Grant's shoulder. That ended Grant's night. He was replaced by Cab Morris.
Dartmouth's Eric Neiley scored a short-handed goal midway through the second. The Big Green had the momentum the rest of the period, and will start the third on a power play after Daniel Carr was called for roughing at the end of the second.
Union leads the best-of-three series, 1-0. A win will clinch the series and send the Dutchmen to Atlantic City for next Friday's semifinal.
