Simpson's power-play goal gives Union 1-0 lead over Clarkson

Wayne Simpson's power-play goal late in the first period has given Union a 1-0 lead over Clarkson in the ECAC Hockey regular-season finale Saturday at Messa Rink.

Simpson tipped in a Shayne Gostisbehere high-slot drive past goalie Greg Lewis with 2:47 left in the first.

Niskayuna native Colin Stevens, starting in goal in place of Troy Grosenick, made 10 saves. Grosenick was injured in Friday's 5-1 win over St. Lawrence. He was listed as the starter on the line chart before Saturday's game.
