RPI women's hockey team announces 2013-14 recruiting class

The RPI women's hockey team announced its 2013-14 recruiting class Monday.

The Engineers will have three forwards and two defensemen. The forwards are Laura Horwood (Belleville, Ontario/Durham West Lightning), Lindsey Hylwa (Cary, N.C./Gilmore Academy) and Katie Rooney (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo High School).

The defensemen are Hannah Behounek (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka High School) and Heidi Huhtamaki (Espoo, Finland/Espoo Blues).

"We are excited about this group of student-athletes entering our program," RPI coach John Burke said. "They will add size, skill, athleticism and character to our line-up. We can’t wait to work with them and our returners.

"I want to thank [assistant coaches] Brent Hill and Melanie Greene for doing an outstanding job putting together this year's class, which will contribute to our program's ability to compete for an ECAC Hockey championship."
