ECAC Hockey Faceoff Selections 2012-13: Week 17

By Ken Schott
Thursday, January 31, 2013

If I could get bonus points for picking the correct scores of the ECAC Hockey games, I would be leading The Daily Gazette ECAC Hockey Faceoff Selections.

I correctly picked four of the final scores last weekend. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong team to win in two of the games. I had Cornell beating Brown, 3-0, and Yale downing Colgate, 4-1. The opposite happened.

I did get the scores for Yale’s win over Cornell and Union’s victory over RPI (both games ended 3-2), and I finished 6-4.

The big news is that a 7-3 week has moved rookie Ryan Fay into first place in the standings. He has a three-point lead over defending champion Matthew Ruffini, who went 4-6.

Here are the overall standings, with the Week 16 records in parentheses:
Ryan Fay — 97-58-25 219 points (7-3)
Matthew Ruffini — 95-59-26 216 points (4-6)
From the NIP to the Bank — 94-60-26 214 points (5-5)
Andy Weise — 89-65-26 204 points (5-5)
Stephen Salmon — 89-65-26 204 points (5-5)
RedLiner36 — 89-65-26 204 points (6-4)
Achilles 3-7-5 — 87-67-26 200 points (4-6)
Messa Faithful — 87-68-25 199 points (6-4)
Alan Kratzke Jr.— 87-68-25 199 points (8-2)
Casey Hart — 85-70-25 195 points (5-5)
Me — 86-71-23 195 points (6-4)
Burgie — 86-71-23 195 points (7-3)
Brian Unger — 83-73-24 190 points (5-5)
Kevin Sokolski — 81-73-26 188 points (0-10)
Still Crazy In Section 17 — 78-76-26 182 points (3-7)
Union Bob — 70-87-23 163 points (7-3)
