Injury updates on Union's Stuart, Jooris

Union coach Rick Bennett updated the status of two injured Dutchmen prior to Thursday's practice at Messa Rink.

-- Senior defenseman Shawn Stuart, who has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, could play in Saturday's Mayor's Cup game against RPI at the Times Union Center.

"It looks like Shawn is still battling that injury," said Bennett, who started to say that he wasn't going to put Stuart on the probable list until I asked if he was questionable.

"I like probable," Bennett said. "Probable is good."

-- A decision on whether junior forward Josh Jooris will play could be decided by Saturday. Jooris sat out Tuesday's 4-1 win over Harvard with an upper-body injury, was scheduled to practice Thursday. Jooris was hurt in the third period of last Saturday's 2-1 win over Colgate when he took a stick to the facemask.

"We'll see how he feels," Bennett said. "It'll be a game-time decision."
