Union took a lead into the third period. This time, the Dutchmen didn;t break.
Nick Cruice scored with just under seven minutes left in the second period Saturday to give Union a 2-1 victory over Colgate in their ECAC Hockey game at Messa Rink.
Union had blown third-period leads in its last two games.
Cruice took a Shayne Gostisbehere pass and cruised down the left wing into the Colgate zone. He fired a wrist shot from the left circle that eluded the glove of goalie Spencer Finney to snap a 1-1 tie.
Union took a 1-0 on Wayne Simpson's breakaway goal late in the first period. Jeremy Price tied it midway through the second on a power-play goal.
