Goals by Matt Hatch and Kyle Bodie have given Union a 2-1 lead over Cornell after the first period in their ECAC Hockey game Friday at Messa Rink.
The 17th-ranked Dutchmen didn't get off to a good start. John Esposito scored 1:07 into the game for the 16th-ranked Big Red.
The Dutchmen overcame that. Hatch dug a puck out of scrum in the slot and fired a shot over goalie Andy Iles' glove at 9:18.
Bodie gave the Dutchmen the lead on the power play with 4:21 left. After Iles stopped a Wayne Simpson backhander from the slot, the puck caromed high in the air. Bodie calmly knocked it down with his glove and fired it into the net.
