No Rangers' blackouts, no Sabres HD TV

Some local NHL TV news for you today

-- Good news for New York Rangers fans. None of their games will be blacked out in the Capital Region during this year's 48-game season.

As many of you know, the NHL says we are Buffalo Sabres territory, and when their home games are on, MSG and MSG Network must show those game and black out the Rangers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils.

But thanks to the schedule, there aren't any conflicts with the Rangers. However, there are conflicts with the Devils and Islanders, so those games will be blacked out.

-- Speaking of the Sabres, there won't be a Sabres HD channel on the Time Warner Cable system. A TWC-Albany spokesperson said that for Zone 2 (which is us), every Sabres game (both home and away) will be on either MSG, MSG Plus, NBC Sports Network or local NBC.

The Sabres HD channel was created because the MSG Plus HD channel never carried the Sabres' telecast.
