Boston College senior defenseman and Clifton Park native Patch Alber will be the guest on the first "Slap Schotts" college hockey segment of 2013 during Rodger Wyland's "Big Board Sportstalk" at 11:05 a.m. Thursday on FOX Sports 980 (WOFX).

Alber will discuss the torn meniscus in his right knee that he suffered before last Saturday's game against Alabama-Huntsville at the Mariucci Classic in Minnesota.

After the break, we'll discuss last weekend's Union and RPI results and look ahead to this weekend's games. We will also talk about Union and Team USA defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere and the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Phone calls (518-690-0980) and e-mails (bigboard@wnyt.com or bigboard@foxsports980.com) are welcomed.
