ECAC Hockey Faceoff Selections 2012-13: Week 18

By Ken Schott
Thursday, February 7, 2013

As we begin the final four weeks of the ECAC Hockey season, rookie Ryan Fay is starting to take control of The Daily Gazette ECAC Hockey Faceoff Selections race.

Fay posted a 6-3-3 record to increase his first-place lead to six points over second place Matthew Ruffini, the defending champion, and From the NIP to the Bank.

I had another good week, going 6-2-4. Maybe I have a run in me. Then again, I’m a fool. Just ask the Minnesota Gophers fans who didn’t like my latest College Hockey Slap Schotts blog because I had the audacity to say that Quinnipiac deserves to be the country’s top-ranked team and not the Gophers.

Here are the overall standings, with the Week 17 records in parentheses:
Ryan Fay — 103-61-28 234 points (6-3-3)
Matthew Ruffini — 99-63-30 228 points (4-4-4)
From the NIP to the Bank — 99-63-30 228 points (5-3-4)
Stephen Salmon — 94-68-30 218 points (5-3-4)
Andy Weise — 92-70-30 214 points (3-5-4)
RedLiner36 — 92-70-30 214 points (3-5-4)
Messa Faithful — 92-71-29 213 points (5-3-4)
Burgie — 93-73-26 212 points (7-2-3)
Me — 92-73-27 211 points (6-2-4)
