Niskayuna reaches Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old World Series semifinals

Conor Graham’s RBI single snapped a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Niskayuna held on for a 4-3 victory over Tri-Counties (Texas) in the Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old World Series on Thursday.

Niskayuna advances to the semifinals Friday night at 8:30. It will face El Segundo (Calif.).

Graham also pitched 6 1/3 innings for Niskayuna. He allowed three runs on eight hits. Graham walked three and struck out one.

Ben Funyak got two flyouts in the seventh to earn the save. Funyak also had an RBI double and scored the tying run in the fifth as Niskayuna erased a 2-0 deficit.

Matt Toy drove in the eventual game-winning run on a groundout in the sixth.
