RPI's Bailen, Union's Gostisbehere named All-Americans

RPI senior defenseman Nick Bailen and Union sophomore defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere were named to the All-Americans on Friday.

Bailen was a first-team on the East squad. He led the Engineers in scoring with 12 goals and 19 assists in 35 games. Bailen, who was named to the first team All-ECAC Hockey, finished his career with 33 goals and 72 assists in 149 games. Bailen was a second team All-America in 2010-11. He is playing with the Rochester Americans on an amateur tryout contract.

Gostisbehere, who had eight goals and 18 assists in 36 games, was named to the All-ECAC Hockey second team. Gostisbehere also helped Team USA win the gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships. He had a goal and an assist in six games.

Gostisbehere was selected in the third round of last June's NHL draft by the Philadelphia Flyers.

Five other ECACH players were named All-Americans. On the first team are Quinnipiac goalie Eric Hartzell and St. Lawrence forward Kyle Flanagan. The second-team members are St. Lawrence defenseman George Hughes, St. Lawrence forward Greg Carey and Yale forward Andrew Miller.
