Union, Penn State tied, 1-1, after two

David Glen scored early in the second period, helping Penn State tie Union, 1-1, after 40 minutes of play in the second game of their non-conference series Sunday at Messa Rink.

Union had a goal waved off late in the second when referee Alex Dell prematurely blew his whistle after goalie Matthew Skoff stopped a Charlie Vasaturo drive. Daniel Ciampini put the puck in the net after the whistle.

Ciampini scored at 7:21 of the first. Greg Coburn's right-point drive hit Nittany Lions goalie Matthew Skoff, who didn't see it through the screen. The puck went up in the air, rolled down Skoff's back and landed in the goal crease. Ciampini dove after it and poked it in.

Union has a 16-9 shot edge. Dutchmen goalie Troy Grosenick is in the net for his first start since hurting his right leg Nov. 9 at Harvard.
