Laliberte cleared to return to RPI lineup
RPI center Jacob Laliberte, who missed last weekend's games at Dartmouth and Harvard because of concussion-like symptoms, will be back in the lineup this weekend when the struggling Engineers host Mercyhurst in a two-game series starting Friday at Houston Field House.
Laliberte, RPI's leading scorer with four goals and six assists, was hurt in the Nov. 3 game against Union. He was bothered by headaches last week.
"I'm feeling way better," Laliberte said. "I think I'll be playing this weekend. I've been cleared to play since I've been symptom-free since Sunday."
Since winning their season opener against Ferris State, the Engineers (0-4 ECAC Hockey, 1-5-2 overall) are winless in their last seven. They were shut out by Dartmouth and Harvard.
"We certainly missed him [last] weekend," RPI coach Seth Appert said. "But that's not an excuse for why we played the way we did. We should have played better."
Appert said that forward Zach Schroeder is out this weekend, and forward Johnny Rogic is questionable.
