Deerfield's Gonye commits to Union hockey team for next season

The Union hockey team has received a commitment from Deerfield senior center Alex Gonye.

Gonye led Deerfield in scoring last season with 18 goals and 15 assists in 25 games last season. The 18-year-old Gonye is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. He shoots left.

U.S. Hockey Report said the Gonye has skill to spare and decent size. But for Gonye to take his game to another level, he will need to add "some consistency and grit to go along with the skill package."
