Ravena's Romano gets promotion at ESPN
ESPN has promoted Jason Romano, a 1991 Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School graduate, to senior manager of Social Media.
Romano, who had been a talent producer at ESPN since 2003, will start his new job Nov. 18 He will be overseeing all of ESPN's NFL Social Media.
He started his career at WGY-AM (810) from 1997-2000. He was the afternoon producer of the "Mark Williams Show" from 1997-98, and then the executive producer of the "Don Weeks Morning Show" from 1998-2000.
Romano joined ESPN Radio in 2000, and then moved to the TV as a talent producer in Dec. 2003.
"I'm very excited," Romano said in an exchange of direct messages on Twitter Wednesday night. "I'm really looking forward to growing the ESPN NFL brand in a new medium. Social Media is the future.
"I believe social media will be a lot of fun. A chance to do some things that, maybe, you can't do on TV, but without compromising the brand."
