Krug commits to Union hockey for 2013-14 season

The Union men's hockey team has received a verbal commitment from defeneseman Matthew Krug of the U.S. Hockey League's Indiana Ice for the 2013-14 season.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Krug,a Buffalo native, played in 56 games last year for the Ice, his first season with the team. He had two goals and nine assists.
Prior to joining the Ice, Krug played three seasons with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, collecting 16 goals and 55 assists in 140 games. His best season came in 2010-11, when he had 10 goals and 34 assists in 50 games.
