Gostisbehere ejected from Team USA's 9-3 win over Slovakia

Team USA will play in the World Junior Hockey Championships quarterfinals on Wednesday after its 9-3 victory over Slovakia in its final preliminary-round game on Monday morning.

But Union defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere may be out of the lineup when Team USA plays Wednesday. Gostisbehere received a five-minute major for slashing and a game misconduct with 3:10 left in the first period. Gostisbehere could be subject to further discipline by the tournament directors. If he is suspended, Gostisbehere will miss the game against the Czech Republic.

Before he was ejected, Gostisbehere picked up an assist on John Gaudreau's goal nine minutes into the first period that gave Team USA a 3-1 lead. Gostisbehere has a goal and an assist in four games.
