A three-goal second period has lifted Princeton to a 4-2 lead over Union in their ECAC Hockey game at Messa Rink on Saturday.
The Dutchmen had a 2-1 lead after one, but could not hold on to it. Eric Carlson tied it 1:09 into the second when he tipped an Aaron Ave right-point shot past goalie Colin Stevens.
Will MacDonald gave Princeton the lead when he fired a wrist shot, off of a setup by Aaron Kesselman, over Stevens' glove at 3:44.
Stevens' day in net ended at 12:23 when a Tom Kroshus left-point shot deflected off Union defenseman Tim Boyle's stick and in. Troy Grosenick replaced Stevens, a Niskayuna native.
