Grosenick, Welsh named to All-USCHO teams
Union goalie Troy Grosenick and center Jeremy Welsh were named to the All-USHO teams on Tuesday.
Grosenick made the first team. He posted a 22-6-3 record with a 1.65 goals-against average, a .936 save percentage and five shutouts. Grosenick won the Ken Dryden Award as the ECAC Hockey goalie of the year, and was named a first-team All-America.
Welsh, who signed with the Carolina Hurricanes after Union's season ended in the NCAA Frozen Four semifinal, was named to the second team. He led the Dutchmen in scoring with 27 goals (a team record for most goals in a season in Union's Division I era) and had 17 assists. He finished his three-year career with 100 points. Welsh was named the Most Outstanding Player at the ECACH tournament and NCAA East Regional, and was second-team All-America.
