NBC13's Catalon part of Masters broadcast team

NBC13 sports reporter and weekend anchor Andrew Catalon is headed to the Masters.

Catalon will be part of CBS Sports' coverage of golf's first major next Thursday-Sunday. He will be working on one of CBS Sports' four channels on DirectTV, covering a specific foursome.

Catalon will work with former PGA golfer Billy Kratzert.

The four channels will also be available on www.CBSSports.com and www.masters.com.

Broadcasting the Masters is another plum assignment for Catalon.

He has worked two Olympics for NBC — he called fencing and team handball during the 2008 Summer Games in Bejing, although he was working out of the NBC studio in NBC for that — and he was in Vancouver, British Columbia, describing the curling action in the 2010 Winter Games. Last summer, he was in New York to call the U.S. Open tennis tournament for CBS 3D. Catalon also fills in on NBC Sports updates on the weekends.

"I've been able to see so many events, and get to so many different places, it's just fantastic," Catalon said.
