ESPN sells soul for LeBron James special
King LeBron James is proving how much power he has, and ESPN will gladly bow before him.
The cable network sold its soul Wednesday, announcing it will have the much over-hyped announcement of what NBA team James will sign with on the one-hour infomercial, I mean, special, "The Decision," at 9 p.m. Thursday. It will also air on ESPN Radio.
The show will be hosted by Stuart Scott. Jim Gray will interview James as he tells a breathless nation (except for me, because I don't give a crap) where he will play for the next few seasons.
That ESPN would bend over backwards for James, who hasn't won an NBA title, is galling. Soon, other athletes will want to buy time on ESPN to have their so-called big announcements.
I wonder if Brett Favre will be up next.

Although I do give a crap, I agree with you on this travesty of news judgment (or lack thereof).

He first said he was selling sponsorships and the money would go to the Boys and Girls Clubs - but I guess it's better off in his pocket.
