WTMM-FM (104.5) is the new Capital Region home for the NCAA men's basketball tournament radio coverage.
WTMM announced Tuesday that it will carry most of the tournament games, including the Final Four, taking the coverage away from WOFX-AM (980). During the first round of the tournament, WTMM will carry the noon game, and then the prime-time games. It will not broadcast the second afternoon game, unless Siena or Syracuse is in it. Otherwise, "Sound-Off with Sinkoff" will air at its usual 3 p.m. slot.
WTMM will also carry various conference tournament championship games.
The station will carry eight Saturday regular-season games. Those games are Connecticut at Georgetown Jan. 9, Georgia Tech at North Carolina Jan. 16, Texas at Connecticut Jan. 23, Duke at Georgetown Jan. 30, Michigan State at Illinois Feb. 6, Maryland at Duke Feb. 13, a Bracketbuster game Feb. 20 and North Carolina at Wake Forest Feb. 27.
