Well, so much for being No. 1.
My stay at the top of the ECAC Hockey predictors standings lasted all of one week. An uninspiring 6-5-1 knocked me out. Matt Ruffini's 9-2-2 week puts him in first.
Where did I go wrong? Picking Harvard to win twice. The Crimson have been awful of late, going 0-7-2 after opening the season with a victory at Dartmouth Oct. 30. Harvard can't win at home, losing to Dartmouth on Sunday and Brown on Tuesday.
The Crimson are home again Wednesday against Boston College. Needless to say, I'm not picking them.
Here are the standings through Week 8, with Week 7 records in parentheses:
Matt Ruffini — 55-30-12 (9-2-2) 122 points.
Me — 53-32-12 (6-5-2) 118 points.
RedLiner36 — 52-33-12 (6-5-2) 116 points.
Still Crazy In Section 17 — 51-34-12 (7-4-1) 114 points.
Union Bob — 49-36-12 (5-6-2) 110 points.
