'Slap Shots' returns to WOFX Thursday on 'Big Board Sportstalk'

By Ken Schott
Wednesday, October 8, 2008

After a six-month hiatus, I will be back again for another season of college hockey talk on Rodger Wyland’s “Big Board Sportstalk” on WOFX-AM (980) starting Thursday at 11:05 a.m.

We will have an extended version of "Slap Shots" (the new name for the segment). At the top, RPI coach Seth Appert and Vermont coach Kevin Sneddon will be on to discuss the game between the two teams in Quebec on Saturday.

Around 11:25 a.m., Union coach Nate Leaman and U.S. Under-18 National team coach Ron Rolston will be on to talk about the exhibition game between the two teams Saturday at Messa Rink.

We also preview the season. And we expect a phone call from my Mom (the Queen), and a funny e-mail from my high school buddy Dan Haneman.

Phone calls (518-690-0980) and e-mails (bigboard@wnyt.com) are welcomed.
