Tuesday, May 6, 2008

The Kentucky Derby rating remained the same, but the viewership for Saturday’s race was up slightly, according to NBC Sports.

NBC’s coverage of Big Brown’s Derby win earned an 8.8 rating and 21 share, the same as last year. A total of 14.2 million viewers watched the race, up 3 percent over last year.

It was the most-viewed Kentucky Derby since Smarty Jones won in 2004, and the second-most viewed in at least 17 years.
