Some local TV and radio news for you on Monday.


– The NCAA men’s basketball tournament broadcast schedule for Thursday has been announced. WRGB (Ch. 6), digital channel 6.1 and Time Warner high-definition channel 1806 will have the East Regional semifinal games – North Carolina-Washington State at 7:27 p.m., and Tennessee-Louisville at 9:57 p.m.


TW-3 and TW-1896 will have the West Regional semifinals – Xavier-West Virginia at 7:10 p.m., and UCLA-Western Kentucky at 9:40 p.m.


– Friday’s Albany River Rats-Syracuse Crunch AHL game won’t be carried by WTMM-FM (104.5) because it is broadcasting the New York Yankees-Florida Marlins spring training game at 7 p.m. The Rats game will be available on the Internet through the Rats' Web site.

Wow, WTMM is dumping the Rats for a spring training game? I guess that just shows where the money comes from because I can't see any other reason to dump a regular season game involving a local team for an exhibition game.
