Fox Sports announces MLB TV schedule

By Ken Schott
Thursday, March 6, 2008

Fox Sports announced Thursday that all of its Saturday afternoon Major League Baseball telecasts this season will be in high definition. Now, that’s give me even more reason to tell my wife that we need a high definition TV!

But enough about my HDTV negotiations. Fox begins its coverage April 5. The Capital Region will see the New York Mets take on the Atlanta Braves.

The Mets will be on Fox nine times. The Yankees and defending World Series-champion Boston Red Sox are on eight times each. The Yankees and Red Sox meet April 12, July 5 and July 26.

Games of note: the Mets will face my defending National League East-champion Philadelphia Phillies April 19 and Sept. 6; Joe Torre and the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Mets May 31; and the Yankees and Mets meet June 28.

Fox will televise the All-Star Game from Yankee Stadium Tuesday, July 15.
