The worst-case scenario could be happening to Union.
Needing a win or tie to secure a first-round ECAC Hockey tournament bye, the Dutchmen find themselves down, 1-0, to Brown after two periods at Meehan Auditorium. Meanwhile, Harvard and Cornell, the teams Union is tied with for third, are tied, 1-1, early in the third period. If that score stays the same, the Dutchmen should be fine, as long as they can come back against the Bears.
Union gave up a five-on-three power-play goal to Sean Hurley early in the second. Adam Presizniuk should have tied it for Union later in the period, when the Dutchmen had a five-on-three. He had an open net, but he shot it right into goalie Dan Rosen, who was down on the ice.
The Dutchmen need to show more passion in the third. If they do that, they'll come back. If not, they may find themselves playing at Messa Rink next weekend.
