'The Herd' gets TV coverage
Monday, August 18, 2008

Some non-Olympic TV news for you this Monday afternoon.

– ESPN Radio’s “The Herd” is getting the TV treatment starting next Monday. ESPNU will simulcast the 10 a.m.-1 p.m. sports talkshow. The radio show is heard locally on WTMM-FM (104.5).

"Our show has a fraternal feel to it, which seems to be a natural fit for ESPNU’s college audience," Cowherd said in a statement. "This will be a good opportunity to elevate the awareness of our show, plus fans will see the world’s fastest eater during breaks!"

– For those of you who get the NFL Network, you will have the opportunity to hear Sterling Sharpe make his play-by-play debut Sunday when he calls the NFL preseason game between the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts. Sharpe, a former wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, has been a studio analyst at various networks for 12 years. Marshall Faulk and Deion Sanders will join Sharpe in the booth.
