WVCR to pick up two Rats games

By Ken Schott
Monday, April 21, 2008

I’m just getting a chance to check my e-mails after being away from the house all day.

Good news for Albany River Rats fans who haven’t been able to hear their AHL playoff games on WTMM-FM (104.5) because of conflicts with the Yankees. WVCR-FM (88.3) will air Games 4 and 5 of the Rats’ series with the Philadelphia Phantoms. Game 4 is Tuesday, and Game 5 is Thursday. Air time is 6:45 p.m.

WTMM-FM (104.5), the Rats’ normal radio home, is expected to carry Game 6 on Saturday. Air time is 6:45 p.m., but the Yankees-Cleveland game, which is scheduled to start at 3:55 p.m., may disrupt that.

I’m still waiting to hear from Time Warner Cable on why Saturday’s Minnesota-Colorado NHL playoff game was bumped off during the third period at midnight by infomercials. As soon as I get word, I will pass it along.
