Living up to their word
Monday, April 28, 2008

I'm spending the day in bed fighting off a nasty cold that doesn't seem to want to go away, but I wanted to pass along a brief bit of good news.

As I was cuddled up under a comforter in my recliner this morning, I had a knock on my door. As promised, though a couple days later than expected, a FedEx man was delivering my refund check from DISH Network.

I can't blame DISH for it being a couple days late, however. It seems neither FedEx nor UPS deliver overnight shipments on Saturdays to my neck of the woods. Just another example of how we in rural America are shortchanged, I guess.

Meanwhile, DISH has also credited my account for the $20 overdraft charge for my National Grid payment, which, as you may recall, my bank paid for me even though my account was overdrawn until my paycheck went in on Thursday.

So, I guess, all's well that ends well, though I'll be much more hesitant about using online payments for bills from here on in.
