Brian Williams: Our national scape goat

I am not a fan of Brian Williams, the NBC anchor who is currently on unpaid leave for misrepresenting his experience on a helicopter ride while in Iraq. But as the scape goat for our national psychosis I have some compassion for him – I would have more if he had been reporting real news all along.

Fun with the FBI

The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) has a motto: “Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity.” It could also easily be “Fabricate, Burglarize, Intimidate.” Or at least that's what a group of American citizens who called themselves the Citizens Commission to Investigate the FBI thought back in 1971.

Onondaga County taxpayers to pay $73,000 for crossing the street

Judge David Gideon of DeWitt Town Court handed down the maximum sentence to Mary Anne Grady-Flores: one year in the county jail. Literally for crossing the street.
