Weller changing coasts; Bayda on tryout

The Ottawa Senators today traded forward Shawn Weller of South Glens Falls to the Anaheim Ducks for forward Jason Bailey.

Weller (6-2, 205), 23, played most of the past two seasons with the AHL's Binghamton Senators, scoring 25 points (12g, 13a) in 129 games. Drafted 77th overall by Ottawa in 2004, Weller skated three seasons at Clarkson University.

Weller also played 14 ECHL games for Elmira, with 11 points (5g, 6a).

Journeyman forward Ryan Bayda has been invited to the St. Louis Blues training camp on a tryout basis.

Bayda, 28, had 12 points (5g, 7a) in 70 games for the Carolina Hurricanes last season, and four points (2g, 2a) in 15 playoff games. Bayda played 76 games for the Albany River Rats in 2006-07 and 2007-08, with 71 points (36g, 35a).
