My father, Ralph Janack, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on March 18, at the age of 77, after a long illness. Today was his funeral.
He was more than just a great Dad. He was a great person, a great mentor and role model. I am proud to call myself his son.
Over the last few years, and particularly over the last few months, we knew that the end was near, and yet his passing came so suddenly. I will miss him terribly.
And now, as hard as it is, life goes on. So many people have reached out to our family in the last several days, and you all have my most sincere thanks.
Dad was a big college basketball fan (despite my best efforts to convert him to hockey), especially Syracuse University. So, if you hear someone rooting like hell for the Orange to win the NCAA tournament, it's probably me.
Love ya, Dad. And thanks for everything.
