Phantom party
Wednesday, April 22, 2009

As part of their season-ticket drive, the "Adirondack Phantoms" are will host a block party today from 4-6 p.m. on the patio at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

The event will feature free hot dogs, games for the kids and a chance to talk with Rob Brooks and his staff. In February, the Brooks Group bought majority interest in the Philadelphia Phantoms franchise that will be in need of a new home next season and are considering GFCC.

Season-ticket prices were announced last week. The Brooks Group is seeking 2,500 deposits of $25 by April 30 to guarantee the franchise will move to Glens Falls.

Gazette colleague Lee Coleman reported on Monday that so far, 810 deposits had been received, about 48 a day since setting the deadline on April 3. It leaves them 1,690 short with now eight days remaining. That's 211 a day.
