Covering the Derby
Saturday, May 3, 2008

Covering this year's Run for the Roses is 100-year-old Dorothy "D.F." Davis, who is writing for the Hudson Register-Star.

A former reporter, Mrs. Davis is here with her grandaughter. Rogers said the two of them took the train from New York to Chicago and drove down to Louisville, arriving today. Mrs. Davis is working from seat E-1 in the press box.

Rogers did ask for some writing clips before issuing Mrs. Davis a credential, and will be checking out the Hudson paper Sunday morning. He won't be alone.
