Hi everybody! First off, let me apologize for my absence. I was pretty sick last week and took the time not blogging to sleep.
But I’m back again. And you can guess what I’m writing about today. Or at least I hope you can.
Today is Election Day! I could leave you about a million links to different videos chocked full with celebrities telling you to vote, but that’s not me. I could also talk about the businesses that are giving out free stuff to voters, but that’s not why you should vote either.
You should vote because once every four years we get to say where we think the country should go. You should vote because people have died fighting for this right that you have. You should vote because our country asks so little of us. It asks that once a year, we go to the polls and cast our ballot.
Yes, we live in New York. It’s preordained how our electoral votes are going. But we have house seats up at both the national and state level. We have a say. Use it.
So we have a long night ahead of us (or possibly our favorite pundits will call it quick), but you can go to bed knowing that you made a difference.
We have notorious low voter turnout. Let’s change that. Go out and do vote!
