One of the first questions I’m asked when I mention to people I’ve started blogging is, “What blogs do you read?”

It’s an interesting question, and in all honesty, I don’t follow all that many blogs. But I thought I’d leave you links and descriptions of the blogs I do read. Think of it like Amazon.com’s “People who bought this book also bought …” section.

http://www.responsibilityproject.com/blog/ - This blog is really interesting, especially if you like to discuss ethical issues. The writer posts entries on topics ranging from children’s ultimate fighting to expensive pet surgery to tattling. Commentators debate whether or not the behavior described is responsible or should be encouraged. It’s a cool blog because they’ve attracted a vastly diverse group of commentators and the topics serve as great conversation starters.

http://myhistorymystery.blogspot.com/ - I absolutely love little known historical tidbits. This blog posts a new “On this date” each day. While a lot of it focuses on the ante-bellum and Civil War era, it also breaks into the Watergate scandal and founding. The posts are short, a few paragraphs each, but leave you with a new fun fact to share with your friends each day.

http://generationslack.blogspot.com/ - I debated whether or not to include this link. The writer came of age in ‘90s, and is trying to fight the notion his generation is a bunch of slackers. He posts about things that happened in the ‘90s that now have major political, economic, or pop culture ramifications. It’s similar to VH1’s I Love the 90s. The real reason I love it though, is the Friday Music Video. Each Friday, he posts the video of a classic 90s song. I can’t get enough of 90s music.

http://www.mccainblogette.com/ - This is one of my favorite blogs. Republican presidential nominee John McCain’s daughter, Meghan, chronicles her days on the campaign trail. She makes the senator feel more like a real person, and allows inside the crazy, hectic world of presidential campaigns. It’s been acclaimed by readers on all sides of the political spectrum for its honesty and humor.

So let me know what you think of these blogs or others? What blogs do you read?
