I thought I would use today to update you on various things I’ve written about in the past.
- Going, way, way, back…I joined the millions of Americans of Facebook.com. I got a Facebook page in mid-July. And I still don’t quite understand how it all works, but it does help me stay in touch with my friends from high school.
- Another friend was sexually assaulted, by the same guy. This time my friends spoke up, and he was disciplined, in the days before we graduated from high school.
- Mamma Mia! remains, in my humble opinion, one of the best movies of the year.
- I do write letters to my friends at other schools. I find it relaxing, and there’s nothing more fun than getting mail.
- My hit and run from over the summer was finally resolved in mid-October. After a long few months, the damage was finally fixed.
- I still call home every day. I can’t quite quit my helicopter kid ways.
- I’m adjusting more and more to being away from home. It’s still weird and I do get hit with waves of homesickness, but it’s a lot easier. That doesn’t mean that I’m not thrilled to be home in a week!
- I ultimately ended up rooting for the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series, although I can’t say I’m disappointed the Phillies won after seeing how excited the people in Philadelphia were and still are.
- McDonalds is now getting in on the coffee wars. They hung a sign over Starbucks’ headquarters in Seattle that said “four books is dumb.” I’m telling you it’s the culture wars.
- And the real reason I decided to write an entire follow-up entry: http://www.courant.com/entertainment/stage/hc-hensonmusical.artnov30,0,3646366.story. For those of you who are Emmet Otter fans, go to that site.
For the next week, my entries will be short and sporadic. I’m pretty much focused all day long on surviving my finals. But I’ll be back for a month in a week! Just in time for Art Night!
