With energy prices at an all-time high and the threat of global warming becoming ever more apparent, Green Jobs for America is hosting a “Clean Energy Solutions Tour” to highlight local programs which are saving energy, creating good jobs and benefiting the environment.
WHEN: August 13, 2008; 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
WHAT: A hybrid bus tour of local agencies and organizations which are conserving energy, generating clean energy, providing public transportation and creating “green jobs” for thousands of New Yorkers.
The tour will begin with a press conference featuring speakers from the Sierra Club, Workforce Development Institute, the Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Capital District Transportation Authority.
WHO: Green Jobs for America, CDTA, The Sierra Club, The Blue Green Alliance, Workforce Development Institute, United Steelworkers, the Department of Environmental Conservation, Hudson Valley Community College, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, Citizens Environmental Coalition, Saratoga County Interfaith Environmental Coalition, NY Public Interest Research Group, NYSERDA, Apollo Alliance and others.

At 10:30 am there will also be a tour of the green jobs training program at: Hudson Valley Community College Center for Energy Efficiency and Building Science Williams Hall 80 Vandenburgh Ave., Troy.
At 11:10 am there will be an overview of new green building projects across the state at: The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York 515 Broadway, Albany.
