Dining along the Mohawk

A la carte dinners, a “bountiful Tuscan table” and cocktails on the patio and terrace overlooking the Mohawk River are new features this summer at Angelo’s Tavolo at the Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia.

Starting on July 5, Mazzone Hospitality is offering Tuesday and Wednesday evening outdoor events that they're calling “Tavolo al fresco,” or outdoor table.

Dinner will be served those evenings from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Owner Angelo Mazzone said the summer dining event was created in response to customers. The patio has been a favorite among guests, he said, and with the completion of the terrace this spring, it made sense to open both to regular dining.

“We’re thrilled to host an event that celebrates summer by combining great food and live music in a setting as scenic as the river view at Tavolo al fresco,” Mazzone says in the announcement.

The outdoor dining — or you can order just cocktails and listen to the music while watching the sunsets — will be available from July 5 to Aug. 31. Dinner is served in t he enclosed, temperature-controlled patio. Cocktails will be available on the terrace where there’s a river view, waterfalls, fire pit and live music every Tuesday and Wednesday from now to the end of August.

Lighter fare will be offered, focusing on fresh, seasonal ingredients.

The Tuscan table will be laid with antipasti — Italian cheeses and rotating seafood selections and vegetable items. Guests can choose the Tuscan table alone or from entrees like Fresco Chicken Parmigiano and Tavolo Fries.

Angelo’s Tavolo is open for dinner from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Brunch is available from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Frank Tardio is executive chef.
