If you're interested in knowing a little bit more about some of this year's graduating high school students, check out today's print edition. It includes a 10-page section devoted to the top students at local schools.
I've spent the last few days reading the short profiles and can tell you that, in general, these students are well-read, interested in the world around them and very eager to go off and explore the world.
And while most are ready to pack their bags and head off to college, they also seem to appreciate their hometowns and families. Many, when asked who they most admire, name a parent.
This is the first time we've published a section like this, which gives us an opportunity to print this kind of community news in a special format. In the past, such announcements were squeezed on local news pages when the space was available. This is a much more special treatment.
Editor Jeff Haff oversaw the production of the section, which reflects Jeff's elegant design style. My special thanks to Caitlin Tremblay, our very able intern, who wowed us by her ability to keep on top of this massive undertaking.
