Gazette blogosphere growing
Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Those of you who troll into the sections of this Web site devoted to blogs have probably noticed that it is growing quickly, and it will continue to do so.

Among the latest entries:

-- Gazette reporter Sara Foss is penning "Foss Forward", which she describes as a look at "the things we do when we're not at work", including movies, art, sports, movies and books.

-- Online Editor Mark Robarge offers "Off the Beaten Path", where he writes about "the people, places and things making news (or not) on the western fringes of the Capital Region".

-- Judy Atchinson, executive director of QUEST, is the author of "Wanderings and Musings of a Stubborn Woman", in which she takes viewers inside the nonprofit group, whose goal is to help the children of Schenectady.

Atchinson's blog is the first community blog being hosted by DailyGazette.com, though we have also moved "Focus on Mohawk Valley History" by contributing Daily Gazette columnist Bob Cudmore to the newly created community blog section. Coming soon will be "Green.point", an environmental-themed blog being spearheaded by Gazette Sunday Editor Margaret Hartley but planned to include entries from sources throughout the community.

More community blogs will be added in the near future, as the DailyGazette.com is actively seeking out bloggers from throughout the region. If you are interested in doing a community blog, you can e-mail Tom Woodman, managing editor of The Daily Gazette, by clicking here.
