Saints, Danes in action

By Bob Weiner

Siena College's men's team tries for its first win of the season Saturday at La Salle, and UAlbany attempts to remain unbeaten when it visits Quinnipiac as both local teams hit the road.

The Saints lost to UAlbany in the annual Albany Cup and then fell at Vermont last Tuesday night. The Danes improved to 2-0 after knocking off the Saints and then beating New Jersey Institute of Technology in their home opener Tuesday night.

Rob Poole (15 ppg) has been the most consistent player for the youthful Saints, who are depending on four freshmen to provide plenty of minutes.

UAlbany has been paced by Sam Rowley, Peter Hooley and a surprising D.J. Evans, a senior point guard who scored 12 points against Siena and 20 against NJIT.
